Windshield Replacement and Auto Glass Repair in Grand Junction

Signature Windshield of Grand Junction replaces windshields and repairs auto glass on cars, trucks, SUVs and vans: laminated windshield replacement in OEM or OEM-equivalent glass, rock chip and long crack repair with UV-cured resin, door glass, quarter glass and heated back glass, window regulators, windshield leak repair and forward camera calibration for lane keeping and automatic braking. Every windshield is set in urethane to the AGRSS replacement standard, and we tell you the safe drive-away time before we hand back the keys.

Most jobs happen in your driveway or the parking lot at work, because our techs drive the glass to you anywhere from Fruita to Palisade and out to Delta, Montrose and Rifle. You get a firm price before we start, help filing a comprehensive glass claim if you have coverage, and a written workmanship warranty against leaks and wind noise for as long as you own the car.

Windshields and glass

Windshield Replacement & Auto Glass Repair Services

From a single rock chip to a full windshield and a camera calibration, every job starts with a look at the damage and a firm price.

  • Technician cleaning the inside of a windshield in a garage

    Windshield Replacement

We cut out the old windshield, clean the pinchweld down to a fresh urethane bead, prime any bare metal and set new laminated glass that meets FMVSS 205. The windshield also holds the roof up in a rollover and backs up the passenger airbag, so the bond matters. Most cars without cameras run $300 to $600.

  • Bullseye rock chip in glass, the kind of damage rock chip repair fixes

    Rock Chip Repair

A bullseye or star break smaller than a quarter can usually be filled with resin under vacuum and pressure, then cured with UV light in about 30 minutes. Repair keeps the factory seal in place and stops the chip from running. Many insurers pay chip repair in full. See our rock chip repair page.

  • Thin cracks running across dark glass

    Windshield Crack Repair

Cracks shorter than about 6 inches that stay out of the driver's line of sight and away from the glass edge are often repairable under the ROLAGS repair standard. Longer cracks, edge cracks and stress cracks with no impact point need a new windshield. We tell you which one you have before any work starts.

  • Jeep parked in a home driveway, the usual spot for a mobile windshield replacement

    Mobile Windshield Replacement

Our techs bring the glass, urethane and tools to your home or job site in Grand Junction and the towns around it. A typical replacement takes about an hour, plus the urethane's safe drive-away time. Rain, wind and freezing nights can push a job into a garage. More on mobile windshield replacement.

  • Red car with a shattered side window parked on a snowy street

    Car Window Replacement

Door and side windows are tempered glass, so a break leaves a door full of small cubes. We vacuum the door panel and channels, check the regulator and install new glass, usually $200 to $450. A smashed window after a break-in can often be fixed the same week. See car window replacement.

  • Rear window of a classic car in a parking lot

    Rear Windshield Replacement

Back glass is tempered and carries the defroster grid, and on many SUVs a wiper, a brake light and a radio antenna. We reconnect each tab and test the grid before we leave. Rear window replacement usually costs $300 to $700. Read more on back glass replacement.

  • View through a windshield with the mirror mount on a snowy mountain road

    ADAS Camera Calibration

Lane departure warning, lane keeping and automatic emergency braking read the road through a camera behind the windshield. After a replacement it has to be aimed again with a static target setup, a dynamic road drive, or both. AAA found calibration adds about $360 on average. See ADAS calibration.

  • Blue pickup truck on a rural highway with mountains ahead

    Truck and SUV Windshields

Pickups and SUVs take the brunt of gravel on I-70 and county roads. We stock and order glass for full-size trucks, Jeeps and Subarus, including windshields with rain sensors, heated wiper areas and acoustic interlayers, and we match the original options so the sensors and mirror mount still work.

  • Rain beading on a windshield beside a wiper blade

    Windshield Leak Repair

Water on the floor mat or wind noise at highway speed usually means a gap in the urethane or a lifted molding, often from an earlier install. We find the gap with a water test, reseal or reset the glass, and replace a stretched molding so the leak and the whistle stop.

Work vehicles

Commercial and Fleet Auto Glass Services

Most of our work is for private drivers, but we also keep work trucks and company vehicles on the road across the Grand Valley.

Fleet Windshield Replacement

Service companies, contractors and dealerships with several vehicles get one contact and scheduled visits to the yard, so glass gets done between shifts instead of during them. We keep a record of each unit's glass and calibration for your files.

Work Truck and Oilfield Glass

Trucks running gravel roads and well pads along the I-70 corridor toward Parachute and Rifle chip windshields fast. We repair the small chips before they spread and replace cracked windshields on half-ton through heavy-duty pickups.

Vans and Delivery Vehicles

Cargo and passenger vans often carry large windshields and camera systems for collision warning. We order the correct glass by VIN, set it in urethane and calibrate the forward camera where the van needs it.

Dealer and Used Car Lot Glass

A cracked windshield fails a buyer's first look. We repair chips and replace windshields on lot vehicles before they go on sale, on site, so cars never leave the lot.

Specialty glass

Specialty Auto Glass Services

The less common glass jobs that still come up every week in the Grand Valley.

  • Small rear side window on a vintage car

    Quarter Glass Replacement

Quarter glass is the small fixed or vent window behind a door. Some are set in a rubber gasket, others are bonded like a windshield with urethane. We source the right piece for your model, usually $150 to $400, and match the tint so the side of the car looks even.

  • Car door with the inner panel removed, showing the window mechanism

    Window Regulator Repair

A window that drops into the door, moves crooked or grinds usually has a broken regulator cable or a failed motor. We open the door panel, replace the regulator or motor and check that the glass seals against the weatherstrip before we reassemble it.

  • Windshield and wipers of a classic blue car

    Classic Car Windshield Installation

Older cars and trucks often use a rubber gasket instead of urethane, and their glass can take time to find. We source flat or curved glass for classics, set it with a new gasket and lock strip, and treat rust in the channel so the new glass sits on clean metal.

  • Dashboard and windshield of a van seen from the driver seat

    Heated and HUD Windshields

Heads-up display windshields use a wedge-shaped interlayer so the projected speed reads as one clear image, and heated windshields carry fine wires or a coating. Both cost more, often $1,000 to $2,000, and both need the exact part number. We check the options by VIN before ordering.

  • Rearview mirror and windshield of a classic car seen from inside

Rain Sensor and Mirror Mount Reattachment

The rain sensor gel pad, the mirror button and the camera bracket all move to the new glass. We fit a fresh gel pad so the automatic wipers read rain correctly and bond the mirror mount with the right adhesive so it doesn't drop on the first hot afternoon.

  • Long branching cracks across a dark glass surface

    Long Crack Repair

Some cracks longer than a dollar bill can be filled with long-crack resin instead of replaced, which keeps the factory seal and the camera untouched. It works best on cracks with a clean impact point away from the edge and the driver's view. We look at it and give you a straight answer.

How it works

Our Signature Windshield Process

Signature Windshield of Grand Junction follows the same steps on a $70 chip and a $1,500 camera windshield: check the damage, quote it, then do it to the standard.

  1. Send the vehicle and a photo

Year, make, model and a photo of the damage are enough to say repair or replace. The VIN tells us which sensors and options the glass needs.

  2. Firm price and insurance check

You get the price for the glass, labor and any calibration. If you have comprehensive coverage, we help you open the glass claim.

  3. Glass ordered and booked

We order the exact part, usually in stock locally or within a few days, and book a time at your home, work or our shop.

  4. Removal and install

The tech protects the paint and dash, cuts out the old glass, preps the pinchweld, primes and sets the new windshield in urethane.

  5. Calibration and safe drive-away

We calibrate the camera if the car has one, clean up the glass chips and tell you when the urethane allows you to drive.

What Grand Junction Drivers Say

  • Melissa T.September 2026
Rock off a gravel truck on I-70 put a star in my windshield. The tech filled it in my office parking lot on Horizon Drive during lunch and you can barely see it now. Insurance covered the whole thing.
  • Dan R.August 2026
New windshield on our Subaru Outback with the EyeSight cameras. They replaced it in the driveway in Fruita and did the calibration, and the lane assist works like it did before. Clear price up front.
  • Kyle B.July 2026
Someone broke my passenger window at the trailhead in the Redlands. They vacuumed every bit of glass out of the door and the new window runs smooth. Took about an hour.
  • Rosa M.June 2026
Back glass on my Tacoma shattered when a strap snapped. Had to wait two days for the part, which they told me up front. Defroster works and no leaks after a few storms.
  • Greg H.September 2026
Signature Windshield came out to Palisade, told me my crack was too close to the edge to fix and didn't push anything extra. Fair price on the replacement and they cleaned up after.
  • Tom W.May 2026
Had a whistle at highway speed from a windshield another shop put in. They found the gap in about ten minutes and resealed it. Quiet now.

How Much Does Windshield Replacement Cost in Grand Junction?

Windshield replacement in Grand Junction typically costs $300 to $600 for a car without driver assistance cameras, and $700 to $1,500 once the price includes a camera windshield and calibration. Heated and heads-up display windshields can pass $2,000. A rock chip repair costs far less, about $60 to $130.

The glass part number drives the price: rain sensors, acoustic layers, solar tint and camera brackets each add cost. If you carry comprehensive coverage, the insurer pays the bill minus your deductible, and many insurers waive the deductible for a chip repair.

Western Slope driving

Why Grand Valley Windshields Chip and Crack So Often

Most chips we fix trace back to the road. CDOT's 2021 Mesa County chip seal project resurfaced US 6, CO 139, the US 50 frontage road and 34 miles of CO 141 with loose stone, and county roads, gravel trucks and orchard traffic keep rocks moving long after. On I-70 through De Beque Canyon, rockfall and trucks add more.

The climate finishes the job. Grand Junction sits at about 4,583 feet, with July highs in the low 90s and January lows in the high teens. A chip that sits through a day of sun on the glass and a cold night with the defroster on can run into a long crack, which is why a quick repair beats waiting.

  • Repair chips smaller than a quarter before the first freeze
  • Leave extra space behind gravel and chip seal trucks
  • Warm the glass slowly on cold mornings
  • Park in shade on hot afternoons when the glass is chipped
  • Colorado law (C.R.S. 42-4-201) requires a normal and unobstructed view

FAQ

Windshield Replacement FAQs from Grand Junction Drivers

How much does a windshield replacement cost in Grand Junction?

Most windshield replacements in Grand Junction cost $300 to $600 for cars without driver assistance cameras. Vehicles with a lane or braking camera usually run $700 to $1,500 including calibration, and heated or heads-up display glass can pass $2,000. Comprehensive insurance pays the cost above your deductible.

Can a cracked windshield be repaired?

Often, yes. Chips smaller than a quarter and cracks shorter than about 6 inches can usually be repaired with resin if they sit away from the glass edge and out of the driver's direct line of sight. Edge cracks, stress cracks and long cracks need a new windshield. A photo is usually enough for us to tell.

Does insurance cover windshield replacement in Colorado?

Yes, if you carry comprehensive coverage. Colorado has no law requiring a zero-deductible glass benefit, so your normal deductible applies unless your policy adds full glass coverage. Many insurers waive the deductible for chip repair because it prevents a bigger claim. We can help you open the claim.

How long does windshield replacement take?

The install itself takes about an hour. After that the urethane needs its safe drive-away time, which ranges from about 30 minutes to a few hours depending on the adhesive, temperature and humidity. If the car needs camera calibration, plan on two to three hours in total.

Is it illegal to drive with a cracked windshield in Colorado?

Colorado law, C.R.S. 42-4-201, requires the driver's view through the windshield to be normal and unobstructed, but it does not set a crack size. Whether a crack obstructs your view is up to the officer. A crack in front of the driver is the one most likely to get a ticket and the one we recommend replacing first.

Do I need calibration after a windshield replacement?

You do if your car has a forward camera behind the windshield for lane departure warning, lane keeping or automatic emergency braking. The new glass shifts the camera's view slightly, and calibration aims it again. Most vehicles built in the last several years have one. We check by VIN before quoting.

Should I choose OEM or aftermarket windshield glass?

Both are legal and both must meet FMVSS 205. OEM glass comes from the carmaker's original supplier and carries its logo. OEM-equivalent glass is made to the same standard by makers such as Pilkington, AGC or Fuyao. Some cameras calibrate more easily on OEM glass, and some insurers require it on newer cars.

Can you replace my windshield at my home or work?

Yes. Our mobile techs replace windshields in driveways and parking lots across Grand Junction, Fruita, Clifton, Palisade and the towns around them. We need a level spot and dry weather. On rainy, windy or freezing days we move the job into a garage or our shop so the urethane cures properly.
